The abuser and abused could be children, family members, friends, etc. The government and non-government entities have taken notice of this trend in abuse. Read on to see how they\u2019re trying to address it. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>Charities and #YouAreNotAlone<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The #YouAreNotAlone campaign is a <u>government-led campaign<\/u><u><\/u>\u00a0intended to provide a support network for abuse victims and raise awareness of abuse. By sharing a photo of a heart on your palm, you\u2019ll be spreading awareness about the rise in domestic abuse amid the lockdown. This also gives the movement traction on social media. This traction has led to donations and resources being pooled into charities and domestic abuse hotlines. The charities are providing safe spaces for abuse victims. The hotlines are in place to report domestic abuse and usher victims into safe spaces.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>Safe Spaces<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Charities are sheltering abuse victims, however, they aren\u2019t the only source of safe spaces. People are allowed to shift households amid the lockdown if their safety is jeopardised in their current household. Reporting abuse to the relevant authorities can also grant state-support in shifting households.<\/p>\n<p>With regards to child abuse, some schools have <u>remained open<\/u><u><\/u>\u00a0to give children a safe space. Teachers are tasked with identifying signs of abuse and are encouraged to report their findings to the relevant authorities. The government is <u>providing resources<\/u>\u00a0to guide teachers through the process. These resources include tips on how to identify abuse and protect children.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>Future Prospects<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The government is trying to slowly and safely reopen the economy. This involves opening workplaces and schools, which offer a well-needed reprieve from abuse victims.
