Is it Easy to Migrate to the UK?

Moving and relocating to a new country might seem like a tough sell, but it isn’t all that tough, really. You will, of course, need to find a job and housing, get the visa, apply for residence, and do more.

You Need a Job

In order to move to the UK, you will have to prove that you have some sort of sustenance backing your stay. You can’t find immigration easy without employment or a financial prospect. If you are going to be dependent on someone else when you’re here, they must sponsor your visa and prove that they will bear your expenses in the UK.

And if you don’t have a job. . . find a spouse.

Spousal Visa

You can either be married or have a civil partner in the UK to be eligible for relocation here. There is one condition, though, and that is that you need to prove you have been with your UK spouse or partner for at least 2 years to be able to apply for immigration. You will also have to marry within the next 6 months of your arrival in the UK if you aren’t already married. Regular applications take no more than three months to give you a decision, although complicated cases may take longer.

As a Political Refugee

You can seek political asylum and refugee status in the UK if you are fleeing your country. You will, of course, have to apply for asylum first. You will only be eligible if you have left your country and cannot go back because you face the threat of persecution in your home country. If it is decided that you qualify for asylum in the UK, you can stay here for 5 years with your dependents. Once those 5 years are over, you can make a new application for permanent settlement in the UK.
