Immigrating on a Professional Visa: What You Need to Know
A Professional Visa or the UK Skilled Workers Visa is the basic requirement for people desiring to work in the UK. This visa is in replacement of the Tier 2 Visa Scheme and now allows for a longer stay within the country if you have work opportunities in IT, accountancy, teaching, or healthcare.
The occupations that allow people to obtain this visa have now been revised to accommodate more lower-skilled occupations as per the changes from the UK Immigration law.
Once you have a job offer from a legitimate company, a certificate of sponsorship is needed to apply for the visa. The new point system revised on 1 December 2020 states that 70 points need to be scored on the Skilled Worker point test. You can read up more on that here.
