Children aged under 18 years on the date of their application are exempt from the KoLL (Knowledge of language and life in the UK) requirement.

The children who were born outside the UK but who have lived in the UK continuously for 7 years will be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 5 years rather than 10 years as is the case at present.
